A little about Alan:

Alan worked and lived in Dalton as a maintenance engineer in a care home. He grew up on a farm with his family worked at the shipyard for 38 years as a joiner before taking early retirement in 2008. After this time, he went onto work as a maintenance engineer in a Dalton care home, where he worked throughout the lockdown period. He was a wonderful, kind man who would never hesitate in helping anyone and would always put others before himself.

Personal short summary:

He leaves behind his wife Kathleen, his two daughters, Carol and Helen and four grandchildren, Lewis, Jade, Yasmin and Mason. Grandad is missed greatly throughout not only our family but the whole community. He was loved by so many and he lives on in our memories.
