About David
David was a family man. He worked long, hard hours driving his truck for his own small haulage company. He also worked his smallholding with his brother in the hours he wasn’t “down the road”. He was also a talented carpenter and carver making amazing things do adorn his family’s homes. In fact, he could turn his hand to most things. He loved gardening, hiking and country/folk music. He was a man of few words but those few words were delivered with perfect comic timing. On an evening he was happiest sitting listening to Mike Harding’s BBC radio programme with his feet up on the fireplace.

David's Accomplishments
David was not a number, a statistic because he died from the same disease as thousands of other poor souls. He was everything to his family and not the same as any other man. David was unique, original and irreplaceable.
A Personal Message
David was adored by his grandchildren, Richard, Jamie, Nick, Niamh, Christie, Tom, Archie and Esme. His wife, Anne and daughters, Chris, Jac and Kate were all devoted to him. He had nicknames for them all. He was a true original, a stoic, droll Yorkshireman whose family was everything to him. He will be missed for his brilliant, dry humour and being the man with the answer to thousands of practical problems.
Stricken with Parkinson’s in the last few years he bore it with his usual stoicism until he was taken from his grief-stricken family in a cruel pandemic.
