A Personal Message

Sara was a Mental Health Nursing Matron at Oak Tree Ward The Woodlands Mental Health Unit on the Grounds of Hillingdon Hospital. She worked for the NHS for 33 years working with elderly adults all through her career. She was married with 4 children and 2 grandchildren and a sister Leanne. Sara cared about people and had great faith which I believe helped her through the last week of her life! Her husband is disabled so she was the breadwinner and her youngest daughter has autism and ADHD but she always had a smile on her face and would help anyone she could. We call Sara our Corona Angel as she sent nurses home that were vulnerable, even though she was vulnerable herself.   Sara gave her life looking after her Elderly Mentally ill patients. Although she was a Matron she was hands-on helping her nurses and patients. They have put a photo of Sara in her uniform on her 50th birthday at work as usual in the ward so they could feel her close to them while they carried on their work. We as a family had so many cards from doctors nurses therapists and members of the public which mean so much to us as a family that Sara was loved by so many people not just her family.   Sara was a very quiet person who worked hard and was the glue that kept her family together. She never complained and her only evening out was going to her prayer and Bible group. I not only lost my eldest daughter but lost a very special person in my life.
