Joan's Accomplishments
Joan was very much adored by friends and family alike. With her humour, wisdom and caring nature, she made a lasting impact on anyone she met. She is dearly missed by all her family, who will forever keep her memory alive.
There were many things we didn’t get to say, but an angel came and called her name on her final day. Her place was ready in the skies above, leaving all the ones she loved. It is with great sadness that she’s gone, but she is now reunited with her husband John.
A Personal Message
Born in St Leonard’s near Hastings in 1933 then moved to Sidcup in Kent where she spent the war years. Her early years were spent working in London which ended up being one of her favourite places in the world. She married John in 1954 and lived in Chatham and Southsea. She had her son Philip in 1955 and moved to Canada in 1958. After four years they all returned to England and settled in a small town called Barton-Le-clay. Here she had her daughter Sandra in the very house she spent the rest of her life, besides the last few years spent in a cosy little flat. Whilst in Barton she worked for the Civil Service for over 25 years. When she retired she enjoyed travelling the world and spending time with her family.
