About Gladys
Gladys and Andrew her husband loved family life. They enjoyed being a big part of their grand children’s lives. After Andrew retired from teaching they travelled a lot and after Andrew died, Gladys continued to travel. Her last trip was to stay with her granddaughter in Gibraltar.

A Personal Message
Gladys was born at Tring Station where her father was station master. She was the 6th of 9 children. She joined the fire service during the war and met Andrew her future husband at a dance at Bassingbourn, Cambridge. They were married and had 3 children. Gladys was a very intelligent lady. Interested in everything and tech-savvy. She had a great sense of humour, loved life and was a very loved Mum, grandma and great-grandma.
We miss Mum so much. She was the person we confided in and who was the glue who held our family together. She loved family get-togethers and loved to laugh. She was thrilled when her twin granddaughters were born but sadly died before the second set of twins were born. Not to have kissed or cuddled our lovely Mum since the beginning of this cruel virus and as she died devastated us all. Mum was so brave, she knew she wouldn’t survive and ‘signed off’ to me, my sister and her grandaughters. I said what I needed to say too, how, I don’t know. The fact I wasn’t there at the end will haunt me forever.
