About Gareth
Gareth Jones was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, brother, teacher, leader and friend.
He was a teacher for 43 years, 30 of which were spent at Blurton High School. He retired as principal of Ormiston Meridian Academy in 2019. Gareth was a respected leader who helped to transform the schools he worked in. He is remembered fondly for his discipline, passion and humour by the many staff and students who were lucky enough to work with him, or be taught by him.

A Personal Message
Gareth was a leader at home as well as at work. He was a wonderful husband to Lynn, father to Jenny and Becky and grandfather to Stanley. He gave them the best experiences – full of fun, adventure and love.
Gareth was a kind, principled and selfless man who made a lasting impact on his city and all who knew him.
He was a giant of our time.
