We dedicate this tree in honor of our loved one Don Barkey who met his Savior Jesus on the beautiful shores of heaven on November 21st, 2020. Until we meet again.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
A Personal Message
November 21st 2020 was a bittersweet day for our family. Sweet because our dad, grandfather and great-grandfather Don Barkey, left pain and sorrow behind on this earth and went to Jesus his Saviour where he has a new body without pain! Bitter because we selfishly wish we had more time on this earth with him. It was sweet because also on that day his first great-grandchild was born but bitter in that he never got to meet her this side of heaven. And yet, we rejoice because this was not a goodbye for us at all. It was, “See you soon!” We too believe in Jesus as King and Lord of our lives and so we know it is just a short separation before we can be reunited again. Don and his wife were married for 57 years and if there is one word I can say to describe him it was faithful.
“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.”
“Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
~ 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, Isaiah 40:31
