About David

David Beale was a gentle giant, also known fondly by his grandchildren as Grandad Google because of his brilliance at quizzes and amazing grasp of facts. He appeared on 15:1, Countdown and Pointless. He worked as an Information Technician in the Civil Service and retired early to have more time to travel the world, enjoy walks in the country and walking football. He volunteered at the local church to mow the grass and was a lifetime member of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust where he enjoyed birdwatching. He cared about the environment and was a keen recycler, composter and solar panel convert. He had a great sense of humour and especially loved You’ve Been Framed which he watched and laughed himself silly.

David's Accomplishments

David was a keen environmentalist and we want to dedicate a tree in his name as a legacy of how much he cared for nature and wildlife. We want something to live on in his name.

A Personal Message

David is much loved and missed by his wife Sheila and children Sarah, Jennifer, Helen and Andrew, his sons and daughter in law and grandchildren. Also his sister and nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours. He was our rock, our protector and guide.
