About Betty
My mum was a very special lady. She loved her family so much. She and my dad had been married for 64 years when she was cruelly taken from us far too soon by Covid-19. My mum and dad met whilst on a bike ride with their best mates. They were going to our local seaside which was about twenty miles away. They stopped off for a “lemonade” on the way home and that’s where the two couples met. My mum’s best friend and my dad’s best mate went on to marry as well! Once they both retired, they enjoyed a Caribbean Cruise and made many memories together until, sadly, my mum was diagnosed with dementia and she had poor mobility. But still, my dad, even though he was in his late 80’s, took her in her wheelchair, on the bus, into town twice a week, where they would have lunch and do some shopping. He misses her so much.

I would like to dedicate a Memory Tree in the Forest of Memories as my mum was a very special lady who will remain in our hearts forever. She has left us with so many wonderful, happy memories I will cherish forever. Like so many others, she didn’t deserve to die of this awful virus. God Bless you, Mum. I miss you so much. I will love you forever. Sleep tight and Rest in Peace. Julie xxxxxxxxxxxxx
A Personal Message
Being the only daughter, (I do have brothers) I had a very special relationship with my mum. She meant so much to me and I loved spoiling her with lots of gifts. My mum and dad were absolutely fantastic to me and my husband and young son when I was diagnosed with Cancer back in 1997. So that my husband could return to work each week, the day after I had Chemotherapy treatment (unfortunately he didn’t get paid if he didn’t work), they would support me to look after our 20-month-old son – giving up their own lives to help and support us. This went on for six months until my treatment finished. This meant my son had a very special bond with them both. I will never forget all they did for us and we all miss them so much.
