About Tony
Tony was a structural engineer working on many prestigious (and smaller) projects in the UK for a series of companies all of his working life. He graduated from Sheffield University where he met his future wife Rosie. As a child, he spent many happy holidays on Mersea Island, and when he decided to retire that is where they moved to. Unfortunately, he was still doing a day a week of work, and commuted up to London the week before he caught Covid – and we are sure that is when he contracted the virus. It was the week before the first lockdown.

A Personal Message
Tony was a wonderful son, brother, husband and father, and loved by everyone who knew him. His boundless enthusiasm for life, especially sailing and skiing, and being involved in his local communities in Goring-on-Thames for many years, and then Mersea Island endeared him to all who met him, both those who had known him for years, and new friends on Mersea. All miss him, but mostly by Rosie, Jamie and Toby their sons, and his sister Sue, all of whom have been devastated by his loss.
