About Stanley Thomas
Dad was born in Birmingham on 13 August 1930 and brought upby his parents, with his two brothers in a corner shop, which was a hugeadvantage during rationing!!
He was evacuated, with his brothers, to Loughborough duringthe war, at the end of which he took up a tool making apprentice.
He was drafted for National Service for 2 years at RAFStafford and while there he joined the RAF cycling team.
He came out of the RAF when he was 23 and worked as a designengineer for heat transfer systems.
He belonged to various cycling clubs where he raced and heldmany club records and it is while cycling that he met my mother and theycelebrated 65 years of marriage in 2019.
He was involved for many years with Round Table and producedand co-wrote a series of shows which they took on tour and is still mentionedby current Round Tablers.
He described these as undefinedwonderful yearsundefined and made manylifelong friends.
Dad was involved for over 40 years with the Royal BritishLegion rising to both President and Chairman. He remained on the committee and was actively involved with the PoppyAppeal every year.
He loved watching sport, Aston Villa, Warwickshire CCC,Formula 1 and of course cycling and Dad was thrilled to see Britain win thetour de France repeatedly in recent years.
Dad passed away on 5 April 2020 and was joined by Mum on 7April 2020.

Stanley Thomas's Accomplishments
The pandemic has not given us the opportunity to honour our loved ones as we would have wished. To be able to have a memory tree dedicated to my father would be a permanent reminder of his life here on earth.
A Personal Message
He was a wonderful father who will leave a big hole in our
lives but we will fill the hole with all our happy memories.
