About Roy
Roy married his wife Jean in 1959. They were married for 60 years before he died of COVID-19 in a Care Home in April 2020. Roy and Jean adopted two children in 1968 and 1970 after they discovered they were unable to have children of their own. Due to Jean’s ongoing illness, they were advised against adoption but a Harley Street Consultant told them to go ahead. Roy is much missed by Jean (who survived against the odds) his children Claire and David and his grandchildren, Louis, Malo and Ollie.

Roy's Accomplishments
As a family, we would like to dedicate a tree to Roy because we’d like him remembered alongside all the others who lost their lives to this terrible virus. He had suffered from a rare form of dementia in the last five years of his life (he worried about his health rather than losing his memory) and he didn’t deserve Happy Hypoxia. He basically died within 24 hours. We love and miss him every day.
A Personal Message
Roy was an astute businessman with a dry sense of humour who worked until he was 75. He was admired professionally and was a proud Cornishman. It was a standing joke that if you could persuade him to cross the Tamar Bridge it must be important. He was very close to his family and grew up with animals in the back ‘yard’ during the Second World War. He was a petrol head who learned to drive at the age of eight. He was clever, funny and intuitive.
