About Mike
Mike was always happy, laughing and had gorgeous green, smiley eyes. As a husband, he was perfect, he was supportive, encouraging, very loving and gave wonderful hugs. Mike was my soulmate and my best friend. We spent as much time together as we could and never ran out of things to talk about. We made some incredible memories which I will treasure.

Mike has left an enormous gap in so many lives. He was a much-loved dad, step-dad and grandad, he also had many friends so miss him enormously. We made some incredible memories which I will treasure but am heartbroken that we won’t be able to make any more.
Mike was a gas heating engineer. He worked for over 40 years for British Gas and for the past five years had worked for himself.
In his younger years, Mike was a keen rugby player. He was proud of his involvement with Birchfield Rugby Union Club where he served as club captain and organised social events. Mike’s own sons went on to play for the club and carried on the family tradition. Mike also enjoyed fishing and could talk in-depth about the rivers he had fished.
More recently Mike enjoyed travel, he loved to explore new places, soak up the sun and most of all, he loved to walk along a beautiful beach. Mike was a friendly, sociable person. He loved to go out with friends especially if that night out involved northern soul music and dancing.
Despite being so sociable, Mike was often happiest at home. His perfect night would include a tasty meal, a good bottle of red wine followed by a cosy evening watching a film.
Mike had no underlying health issues, he was fit and active, still working but planning an exciting retirement. He was not ready to leave this earth as he had so much to look forward too. His death was and still is a dreadful shock. I miss him every day and will keep him in my heart until we meet again xxxxxxx
