Michael was a Works engineer at British Alcan in Redditch, it was there he met his second wife Maria, they married on 4th July 1992. Michael was a keen golfer and played at Abbey Park in Redditch, he won quite a few competitions and has his name on a plaque over the bar area in the Abbey Golf club. He also followed his local team at football matches. Michael and Maria bought a static caravan in Somerset where they had many holidays with their dogs, Bess Toby and Madge.
Michael was very shy until he got to know you, that’s when you got to know him and his sense of humour, Michael and Maria bounced off each other, and he loved to visit Maria’s home town of Alcester, and greatly enjoyed his Christmas drinks in the Holly Bush with Stan and Robert. Later Michael and Maria moved into her family home in Alcester, which Michael loved. He decided to take up model railway building in the winter months which he did with dedication. Maria is totally devastated at the loss of her beloved husband – they had such plans to buy a camper van and to travel around. His children Donna and Paul, and grandchildren Luke and Mark – Donna’s boys and Callum, Sam and Theo – Paul’s boys who regularly stayed with Grandad Mick and Nanny Maria.
