About June
For June, family always came first. She grew up in Rainham, Essex and was evacuated to the Forest of Dean as a young child during the Second World War. June met and married her husband when she was quite young (as was usual at that time) and they worked hard to create a home and a secure family life for their children. In the early 1970s the family moved to Danbury in Essex and June loved the change from urban to semi-rural setting. She particularly enjoyed visiting Danbury Lakes and Common. Later, she worked at a local company and embraced village life. She retired in 1994 and moved to Maldon, where she was happy and much respected in her new community. Unfortunately, June’s later life was affected by dementia and she moved to a care home in 2017. June died of Covid 19 on 30 March 2020.

June's Accomplishments
“Though she be but little, she was fierce.”
A Personal Message
June was a loyal wife of Len (deceased 1991) and loving mother and grandmother. She was also a very loved sister, aunty, godmother and friend. Although June was retired, she worked for much of her life in a variety of roles and was a committed and respected colleague. June endured some very difficult times in her life but she bore this with strength and humour. Her positive attitude was an inspiration and her kindness, patience and generosity will always be treasured.
