Joseph's Accomplishments
I am Lesley, niece of Joseph Stanley Brennan. I miss my Uncle greatly. He wrote the most interesting letters and we exchanged many over the years. We shared tips, recipes and jokes! He was always very interested to hear about the family, our holidays and what we were up to. He led such an independent life and sadly many things, I didn’t know until he had passed away. He was staunchly independent, but given the chance to have a chat, he was such an interesting gentleman to talk with.
A Personal Message
My Uncle never married or had a family and he enjoyed the simple things of life. He loved music, specifically Opera and loved to travel.
He had many occupations in his life, he joined the army as a young man, then worked at the Vauxhall car plant in Luton. He was a part-time inventor and writer. He loved to fix things and didn’t believe in throwing anything away if he could find a use for it. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed being experimental in his cuisine.
He was a quiet gentleman who lived a simple life, enjoyed his own company but also like to reminisce about the past. He was respected and liked by his neighbours and friends and by his family, he was very much loved.
