A little about Amy:
Amy was brought up in Twickenham, Middlesex, where she lived for much of her life, and where she and her husband Harry raised their four children: Charles, Marian, Cathy and Tricia. They moved to live in Devon after Harry retired. Her children and five grandchildren were the most important part of Amy’s life and they were a very close family. Even when Charles and Cathy moved abroad with their own families – to Australia and New Zealand respectively – they all tried to get together as often as possible. Amy was passionately interested in nature – and had an encyclopaedic knowledge of plants and wildflowers. She enjoyed walking and singing, especially with her family. She also loved animals and was particularly fond of cats.
Personal short summary:
Amy’s father and my mother were in late middle age
when they married – so she and I didn’t meet until we were adults with our own
young families. Over the years, we became firm friends and regarded each
other as beloved sisters – and of course we both gained a whole new set of
lovely nephews and nieces. Amy was a always a joy to be with and we’re all
missing her very much.
