Prescot, Merseyside

Mum grew up in Prescot a tight-knit community. She was determined to become a nurse. She achieved her dreams and went onto becoming a state registered paediatric nurse and then ward sister at Alder Hey then Whiston hospital. She met Dad when they were 17 and became inseparable and married in 1964. She was devoted wife and mum to 3 and the most loving grandma to 5 grandchildren. She invested in her friendship groups and even kept up with her penpal in France who she 1st corresponded with when she was 12. . She loved sewing and knitting till arthritis took that away. She was very caring and was always at the end of a phone with a kind word an ever ready shoulder to ease someone else’s burden. She would never hesitate to help someone. She was definitely born to be in the caring profession. She loved her garden the roses and other plants and the garden birds. Was a great cook and did a lot of baking everything was made with love. My dad is broken-hearted

Viv was a loving wife, mum and grandma. Greatly missed by her family, friends and relatives. The heart of our family x
