21/01/1943 – 25/04/2020
Leeds, West Yorkshire

My husband Michael Moukourou at the age of 17, came to London in 1960, staying at his cousins’ house in Holloway N7, where he took up Tailoring, he also studied English at evening classes and took a 3-year Hairdressing course where he earned his Diploma. He came to West Yorkshire and met me (Catherine Moukourou) in 1973, we were married in the Greek Orthodox Church on 20th July 1975, and had two sons. He had his own Hairdressing Salon for over 40 years, he worked at the Salon up until 5 days before he became ill at the age of 77. Family and providing for them meant everything to him.

My husband Michael Moukourou was a hard-working man and worked for 60 years. He was kind and generous and would DIY for anyone in his spare time, he was a well-liked and popular man in his local community and the Greek Community.
His popularity shone through in the ‘live streaming video of his Funeral’. the procession in his street and finally at the well organised Cemetery Service. He will be truly loved and missed by his wife, sons, family and friends.
