Chartered surveyor and Land Agent who was dedicated to land management, his greatest love being woodland management. During his career, he managed the estates of Cannon Hall and Wentworth Castle among others. John was a devout man who served his local church in Cawthorne and his wider community by his involvement in many local projects through the Parish Council. John was an enthusiast for life who threw himself wholeheartedly into everything he approached, he loved the outdoors and nature, his garden, travel, and the fells of the Lake District and Scotland.
Much loved husband of Jo, father of Jane, and grandfather of Emma, Frances and Will and deeply missed by them all.
