Steve was 52 years old when he got taken from me, by the evil covid virus. He worked at Ford’s. And had worked there for 29 years. He loved his job. And worked his way up in the company. He had a lot of time for people, and he was very well respected in his job. No matter who you was in his workplace, whether you was the cleaner or the boss. Steve treated you with the same respect. And that’s why people loved him.
Steve and I had been together since we were both 21 years old. We were best friends as well as husband and wife. We had been married for nearly 31 years. Steve was an only child. And his death has hit his parents very hard. Steve was very passionate about his beloved West Ham United. He had supported them since he was a young boy. And held a season ticket. He was very much loved by all my family. And his death has really affected everyone. He was my soulmate and doted on our dog Henry. The pain of losing him is horrendous. When he was taken to hospital in April he was on oxygen for 6 days. We all thought he was getting better. But the hospital phoned and said he had to go on a ventilator to keep him alive. And for the next 5 weeks, it was like a rollercoaster. Getting all different complications setting in. He put up such a great fight. But covid ravished his body. And he couldn’t fight anymore. I was let in the ward to be with him when he took his last breath. And left this world for his next journey, on the 21st May 2020. And at that moment my heart broke. And my life changed forever. I will love him and miss him for eternity xxxx
