31/01/1930 – 13/04/2020
Peter was a retired Senior Tax Inspector who worked in the Civil Service all his life. He was a brilliant cricketer and later an accomplished and dedicated golfer, still playing well into his eighties. He was a father to Michael, Nigel and Sue, a grandfather of seven and a great grandfather of seven. He received an OBE in 1990 presented by the Queen. He was a devoted husband of 72 years to Margaret, who died in December 2019, and he was in the process of coming to terms with that loss. He loved all sport and when he could no longer play watched as much as he could on TV. Having worked most of his life in Liverpool he was a dedicated fan of Liverpool Football Club.
All his family, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren miss him very much. He was a strong, dependable and loving presence in all our lives, and despite losing him in such a tragic way we have many happy memories of large family holidays, Christmases and get-togethers over the years. The Forest of Memories is a thoughtful way for the generations of his family to remember him in the coming years.
