Born in Jamaica came to the UK in 1967 and settled in Birmingham
Born in Jamaica on 2/5/47 came to England in 1967 arrived on a Saturday and started work on Monday. He had various production jobs during his working life. We met in 1971 I was at teacher training college we lived together for 10 years and married on 30/7/1981. We had twin boys in march 1983. Earl worked hard to support his family I went back to university and qualified as a social worker in 1991.
Earl loved travelling as I did and we visited many countries around the world. .Egypt, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, many Greek Islands, Ibiza, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Cuba, Mexico both the Pacific side and Caribbean side and of course we went to jamaica many many times staying at the same hotel 15 times and visiting members of Earls family in the country. Earl adored his sons and loved his granddaughter Ariya who is now 4 years old.
Earl was proud of his sons, he was dignified to the end. He was well known in the community and loved by both young and old, some called him the gentle giant. I still can’t believe he has gone he was my life for almost 50 years it would have been our ruby wedding anniversary in 2022. Our son’s Lloyd and Leon miss him terribly, also daughter-in-law Hayley neighbours family and friends in jamaica are all shocked and devastated that he has gone. His brothers and sister also miss him.
