Berrow, Somerset
My husband was retired, he loved his family and enjoyed holidays in our various touring caravans and motor homes and also many happy trips abroad, all this before sadly getting vascular dementia and residing in a care home. He never forgot who I was though.
My Roy was an amazing man who was in my life for 29 years, we shared a fantastic life together and were married for 24 years. Our son Charlie has just turned 20 and misses his dad terribly. Roy overcame many battles after suffering a stroke on Valentine’s Day in 2019 in Lanzarote (this was to be our last holiday abroad due to his dementia), but he came out the other side. Even after ending up in a care home he was still mobile and enjoyed me taking him out in the car and for lunch and his face always lit up on my arrival. Leaving him was always heartbreaking. Then Covid attacked the world and within 8 hours of collapsing in his room, my soulmate and best friend was gone forever. I miss him every second of every day, he was and always will be my life.
