Philippe was born in Gent, Belgium . He enjoyed a long career working all over the world in the Hospitality Industry. One of the highlights of his career was being a pivotal part of the Disneyland Paris opening team in 1992. He was a man of the world but a true Belgian at heart. He was kind, funny, extremely generous and would light up a room with his captivating personality. He was loved by everyone who knew him and was just one of life’s good guys!
Family was very important to him and our house was not a home without our dogs. One of his passions was his love of cooking which has been passed on to his daughters who now enjoy trying to recreate his recipes. He was also a skilled photographer and we are very fortunate to have a huge collection of family memories to look back on.
Philippe and I, his wife Sheila, were so lucky to have had 31 wonderful years of marriage. Philippe was always there for me, so thoughtful and caring. Looking back I will remember with sheer happiness our younger years living in Brussels, Paris & London – we had the time of our lives! He was also an amazing papa to our two daughters Ashima & Kaya. He gave us a childhood that most people could only dream of and we will cherish those memories forever. He gave us the best advice, helping navigate us throughout life’s ups and downs. We will do our utmost to make him the proudest papa in heaven and have faith that he is guiding us each step of the way.
