Dad was born in Chesterfield to Methodist Minister, Raymond, and his wife, Doris. He grew up to be a Secondary School Head of Science and Church Organist, spending most of his life in Whickham, Newcastle.
He met Mum, Barbara, at the school when she joined the Science department as a Physics teacher. My lovely Mum died in 2006.
Dad loved animals and long walks in the countryside. His faith and family remained the most important things in his life.
Dad was a proper gentleman with a mischievous, cheeky side. He was gentle and generous, doing a lot of work for charity.
He moved into Glenholme Care Home in 2017, and despite his Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s was content and cheerful.
He was universally loved and by nobody more than me. He was my Daddy and I miss him.
